‘...if you are not like everybody else, then you are abnormal, if you are abnormal, then you are sick. These three categories, not being like everybody else, not being normal and being sick are in fact very different but have been reduced to the same thing'

Michel Foucault, (2004) 'Je suis un artificier'. In Roger-Pol Droit (ed.), Michel Foucault, entretiens. Paris: Odile Jacob, p. 95. (Interview conducted in 1975. This passage trans. Clare O'Farrell).

Abstract : I begin my hypertext about Michel Foucault with his biography. But as soon as I started surfing the net, I have found a lot of interesting material about his important  contribution in different works and studies that are based on Foucault’s topics; and to understand his philosophy and his message is important to know the key concepts which are words and phrases used by him in his works. He wrote many essays about postmodernism, madness, psychology and social criticism. I have also taken on account the websites dedicated to Foucault and there are also many works that are inspired in his philosophy. A good example is “The foucauldian” which is one of these sites that joins all his works (or the most important ones) in one list. Lectures were also important in Michel’s life.      Constantly he talks about the Parrhesia (truth). Foucault was a political person and he took part in the Communist Party which he left after a while. In this first paper (and it is also the first time I produce one) you can also find a non-foucouldian history or biography about him.

He was a very wide thinker and he studied a variety of themes that goes from madness to sexuality and analysed the reality through archaeologist of modernity. Not only there are web talking about Foucault’s works and philosophy but also I have found an interesting web that talks about “dichos y equivocos” about the myth that surrounds his public life. There are many transcriptions of interviews made to Foucault. Some are really interesting.  Newspapers’ articles about this author are a bit more difficult to find but are included in this paper. In conclusion, I have known Foucault, and I’m glad that I have known it.
