Abstract of the research paper:

The novel deals with the adventure story of a group of boys who got stranded in a deserted island somewhere in the tropics. They were in a plane, which crashed; in fact these boys are the survivors of the crash.

To some extent, they are confronted to themselves. They learn how to survive in a hostile environment and to organise themselves without the help of adults. The boys also learn how to rely on themselves and to cope with new freedom. They want to create a society with an authority and they are prepared to live under this absolute authority. Gradually tensions appear and break out into conflicts. They have difficulties in maintaining discipline and finding a competent leader. But all this organisation and rules are to create an aggressive society. Finally, when the rescue team arrives, they find "savages" and not civilised people.

For this project, I will analyse:
