This is not a complete Gissing bibliography, but it
lists all his published novels and most of his stories and non-fiction in
chronological order. It was prepared for his book Gissing: A Life in Books
(OUP, 1982) by John Halperin,
Centennial Professor of English at
Prof. Halperin took the
information about the stories from the bibliographical article by Pierre Coustillas, "Gissing's Short Stories: A
Bibliography," English Literature in Transition, 7, 2 (June 1964).
Abbreviated references in parentheses are to volumes
