“Saved”, play of Edward Bond; it was represented on 3 of November de 1965 in the “Royal Court Theatre”, in London.
The personages that participate in the play are: Barry, Colin, Fred, Harry, Len, Liz, Mary, Mike, Pam and Pete. Between all these, the most relevant are: Pam, she has 23 years old, she is the principal woman of the play. She has the obscure hair, pale eyes and a high stature. Pam seduces to Len and she has a son with him at the same time that she is obsessed by Fred, to which she claims him the paternity of the son (that he isn't to him). She has a strong character.
Len is the main man of the play, he is a boy that the author doesn't express as he is, but he has some 20 years old, and he has several jobs throughout the play and he stays in house of Pam after maintain sexual relationships with her a night, Len is very in love of her. He is the only one personage of the play that it seems to have feelings, since he shows something of interest by the baby, and above all by Pam.
Fred is a boy that he has some 20 years old, he is attractive. He is the only of the gang that obtains charges and he goes to the prison by the assassination of the son of Pam. When he leaves of the prison, he has a new girlfriend, Liz, and he despises Pam
. The play starts with the arrival of Len, a supposed lover of Pam, to house of the parents of this. After Pam decides to go with Fred with the what she has a son. Subsequently, Fred decides to let it with Pam, but she refuses.
Fred makes a terrible thing, he kills to the baby. For this reason, he goes to the prison during a time. When Fred leaves to the prison, Pam tries to return with Fred, but he rejects her .Finally, Pam is with her lover Len, that he goes to live to house of her.
All the play, it is represented in different places distributed into each one of the stages: in the first stage, all it happens in the living room. In the second stage, it happens in the park. Next, in the third stage, the facts also occur in the same place. In the fourth stage, all the facts happen in the living room as in the stages eight, nine, eleven and thirteen . The facts of the stage five and twelve, happen in the bedroom.
Personal opinion: the play has impacted me really, above all the assassination of the child.
