“The Dumb Waiter”, play of Harold Pinter; this play was presented firstly in the club of theatre Hampstead on 21 of January of 1960. Thereinafter it was presented in the

“Royal Court Theatre” on 8 of March of 1960, with the same distribution and director.

In this play appear only two personages, it is considered Ben and of  Gus. For the context we can deduce that Ben is much more aggressive, more impatient and that is believed more superior than Gus. Concerning this we can say that he is very  influenced by Ben, that he always obeys to all what  says him and that no matter what he says because according to Ben: “he is the one which commands there”.

The play consists of two youths that are found as “hidden” in a cellar, since they only leave at night. For the context, we have been able to deduce that it is considered two murderers to salary that they are waiting a notice for leaving to make what they know. While they wait, they speak about many things, as for example: the girl of   eleven   years old that killed to her cat, the match of football of Villa, but it more surprising is when they make the plan to assault to someone.  Though also, it happens something very funny, during the waiting; of the part of up of the house through a elevator, demand them that they make foods but they haven't nothing to make them, all this through notes of paper, until that they discover the microphone that permits them to speak with those of up. Those of  up  it seems that are got angry but they   don't   make neither case. Finally, these are gone to make their task.

 The play, as we have said previously, is carried out in a cellar in the City of Birmingham. Therefore, we can say that it is considered a closed, only, urban and a little sophisticated space to be tried to a play.

The play is supposed that is carried out during the day, because those of   “up”  request them typical foods of the meal and because these, according to they say, they don't  leave by the day; and as the play  is carried out in the cellar is supposed that it is by day and therefore they don't  leave from there. The play makes reference to the present and to the future, that it is corresponded with the “assault” supposed to a man or a woman.

Referring to the literary and stylistic resources, concerning the valuation of the language we can assert that in the text is used the prose and a simple language.

Concerning the others aspects, we have appreciated the presence of the economic aspects (cost of production not very high, due to the shortage of furniture in the stage) and the technical aspects (it would have a little of difficulty of staging due to the fact of reflecting the elevator, and purportedly to the person that speak them; then they would build two floors and that seems impossible).

Personal opinion: the play is very well, it has various topics but it reflects a crude aspect of the reality, the assassinations, concretely the assassins to salary. But the play has a good content as a whole, and the author knows as reflecting the emotions of the assassins.
