M.R. Petit

Marianne Rodriguez Petit (M.R.
Petit) was born in 1964. She is an interactive multi-media artist and educator.
She is a Visiting Assistant Professor at New York University's
Interactive Telecommunications Program. Her work has been exhibited in
international festivals and exhibits, including: Siggraph
97 (The Electric Garden); Reinventing The Box (Chicago Art Institute 1997);
Montreal International Festival of Cinema & New Media (1997); Espace CD-ROM, DrancyberCulture,
(France 1997); New York Exposition of Short Film & Video & Interactive
Media (1996); ISEA97 (Chicago) ISEA96 (Netherlands); Thaw '96 - University of
Ohio (First Prize), Thaw '97. She has been reviewed in a variety of
publications, including: World Art Magazine (7/96), Wired Magazine (5/96) and
by Donald Kuspit for the FuturelessFuture

Petit is newly arrived to Adams and is the
creator and animator of this series. She splits her time between Adams and New York where is she is an Associate Arts Professor at New York University’s Interactive
Telecommunications Program. There she teaches courses in digital media,
animation and storytelling in addition to overseeing the assistive technology
and social justice curriculum. In addition, she is the co-director of Greylock Arts,
a non-commercial arts space located in the Northern Berkshires, dedicated to
the intersection between art and technology. Her artwork has appeared
internationally in festivals and exhibitions as well as broadcast on the
Independent Film Channel).
