Abstract or summary of the research in not more than 100 to max.150 words:

In this work we will analyse the general development of Structuralism: its formalist beginnings in the Prague School (1925), a second stage (1934-38) in which the Semiotic criticism has its origins, and a third stage (1938-48) which gave way to the Reader-Response criticism.

Jakobson and Mukarovski will be the authors that we will study more deeply since they are considered the best examples of the Structuralist criticism.
