ANALYSIS OF SIX SEX SCENES

 

 

Six Sex Scenes is a non linear play of Adrienne Eisen. A non linear organization occurs when the author doesn’t gives an structure, in this case, Adrienne let us to choose between some options written at the bottom of the page, that conduces to different readings. Depends on your election, we are the ones that connect the story how we want, the author only give you the keys.

 

At the first page we find some pictures and the title of the hypertext with a salmon rectangle under it, where you have to click to start reading.  All the pages continue have a salmon colour and the titles of the “scenes” are black.

Therapy: the play starts with the principal character, Christ, and her boyfriend Andy in a couple therapy. Andy doesn’t want to go down on Christ and this irritates her.

 

You Suck: is the name of a Yestie Girls sinlge that she played for him once:

Bored: tells how the aftermoons were when she was with her brother time ago, in the school. Counts the story of a TV they bought.

 

Mon Says To Aim For a Nice Arc: she talks about how she looked for hairs under the skin of her face and dig them out.

 

Doll: she received a doll house for her tenth birthday that was a replica of her house.

 

When I Was Twelve: first she talks about pills and guns, and then tells that her father always says that she have better school grades than her cousins.

 

My Intimate Relationships: she continues talking about their sex problems.

 

GI Joe: her brother doesn’t let she the GI Joe to marry Skipper in her Barbie Townhose.

 

My Snow White Story: she describes a sexual fantasy with a bunch of knights with shining armor.

 

Introduction: she tries to explain the Judaism to Andy, but he doesn’t understand and she starts feeling lonely in the Jewish holidays.

 

Kathie Acker: she is reading at bed and starts getting wet, she says Andy would smell it and wants her to fuck him.

 

Saving Andy From Himself: Andy doesn’t like the taste of Christ’s …, and she says that even if she take a hundred showers or  puts lot the worst smelling things on it, he would continue saying its smells like stale urine.

 

Palm Springs: remembers when they two go on holidays and they were reading all of them.

 

Risk: she was playing Risk with her family and her father attack her county instead of her mother’s or her brother’s.

 

Sweet: when she got a splinter in her parents bedroom.

 

On My Fifteenth Birthday: in her fifteenth birthday she goes shopping with her father and in the dressing room she tried to seduce him.

 

It Wouldn’t Matter If She Where Here Or Not: Ann, the last girlfriend of Andy, came to the city and stays at their home. Ann is always talking about her sex experiences with Andy. Christ tried to be super-secure but she finally goes to bed. Andy goes with her, they talk and decide that next time Ann come won’t stay with them.
