Abstract :

I’ve focused my paper both on the biography and on the chronology of well-known 19th century author Samuel Becket. I have also included some links of interesting published studies about the writer in case any of you are interested and want to buy them.

Samuel Barclay Beckett (13 April 1906 – 22 December 1989) was an Irish minimalist writer, dramatist and poet. He is also considered one of the key writers in what Martin Esslin called "Theatre of the Absurd".

Beckett was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1969 for his "writing, which—in new forms for the novel and drama—in the destitution of modern man acquires its elevation". Beckett was elected Saoi of Aosdána in 1984. He died in Paris of respiratory problems.
