ABSTRACT OR SUMMARY OF THE RESEARCH: In my work I'm going to make a subjective and objective comparison of the novel of Tom Jones by Henry Fielding and its film focusig on the differences between the novel -which is comsidered an amazing work of the English literature- and the film -which won the Gramy Award in 1963 for the best adaptation from the novel to the cinema-. First of all, I'll make an aproximation to Henry Fielding's biography and works. As a conclusion, I'll make reference to the importance of Tom Jones for the English literature, which is similar to the case of The Quixote in Spanish literature.
