In this scene

their houses. Some party is going to taka place. Here it will be the first time
that characters is feeling part of the society, now he is not feeling alone,
although the people is laughing. Joyce uses the figure of Senator, because is
considered one, of the most important person in a system. With this intervention
Joyce is trying to transmit us the relevance, the magnitude of the fact is
going to happen. Another point is the globes we can see in the picture. They
are symbol of freedom. The feeling he is living now, since it is the first time
the character is feeling part
