CONTEXTO DE MACROESPACIOS
OAKLAND;
...Tomorrow morning, I will drive to Manchester. Turn over the keys of
the rented car and fly home. I left my truck at the Oakland Airport and will
be happy to be behind the wheel.
Out on highway through the delta and the central valley to the foothills.
Looking down on the tops of the other vehicles. Sheltered by American metal.
The sight of the mountains in the distance. The smell of the pines. Feeling
high with the slowly increasing altitude -- so diligently documented by highway
department placards announcing elevation 2,000 feet elevation 3,000 feet.
Onward and upwards. Driving up the mountain. ...
...Tomorrow I go to Oakland
Back. Not sure where to begin. A painter is most likely to depict one scene
at a time. Usually in my work, one thing stands out. The details are in
the background. One human usually dominates my canvases. On this trip, it
isn't Lea at whose studio I stayed in West Berkeley because she wasn't there.
Not Sid. I didn't call him. Clearly it is the young man who answered the
door at the house in Crockett. But I am getting ahead of the story....
