December 30, 1865  Rudyard Kipling was born at Bombay, India.

1871-77 Years spent at Southsea

1878-82 Years spent at Westward Ho !

1882 Returned to India and joined the Civil and Military Gazette at Lahore.

1886 Wrote Departmental Ditties.

1887-89 Was on the Staff of the Pioneer, Allahabad.

1888 Wrote Plain Tales from the Hills, Stories for Indian Railway Library.

1889 Returned to London via the USA.

1890 Got success in London.

Wrote The Light that failed

1891 Took sea voyage – His last visit to India

January 18, 1892 Married Caroline Balestier.

Wrote The Naulakha, Barrack-Room Ballads.

1894-95 Wrote The Jungle Books

1896 Wrote The Seven Seas

1897 At Rottingdean. Recessional

1899 Wrote The White Man’s Burden. Last visit to the USA.

Death of Rudyard Kipling’s daughter.

1901 Kim appeared.

1902 House at ‘Bateman’s’, Burwash, Sussek.

1903 Wrote The Five Nations

1904 Wrote Traffics and Discoveries

1906 Wrote Puck of Pook’s Hill

1907 Awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. Voyage to Canada.

1910 Published Rewards and Fairies

1913 Made a voyage to Egypt

1915 Kipling’s son was believed to be killed in France.

1917 Wrote A Diversity of Creature.

1923 Wrote The Irish Guards in the Great War.

1924 Kipling’s younger daughter’s marriage.

1926 Wrote Debits and Credits

1927 Wrote Sketches of Brazil. traveled to Brazil

1930 Wrote Thy Servant a Dog. Voyage to the West Indies.

1932 Wrote Limits and Renewals

Jan 18, 1936 Rudyard Kipling died and was buried in Poet’s corner in Westminster Abbey.
