INTRODUCTION

Before starting with my work I would like to explain why I chose this author and not other one. The first thing that I considered important was that he had to be alive. I thought that it could be easier to obtain recent information that would not have been refreshed in other web pages, only in his one. For example, as he is an author who writes usually in a diary, I wouldn’t have difficulties to find articles which he has published recently. The second fact that I also considered, was that he would not be too known (by me and my classmates) so he wouldn’t be chosen by many people and it would be easier to write about the topics that I wanted to choose. And at last, as it so happened that when I saw the film of “Bridget Jones Diary” I saw the author interpreting himself. This was not an important fact but it was strange. All these facts together made me opt for Julian Barnes and not for another, what makes me quite happy.
