In the first part of the paper, I will try to explain the Surrealism that appears in the 20^th century, expounding the theories and resources of this particular movement. The aim of this paper is to outline the literary context of this movement, and to illustrate the main characters of the surrealism movement. Special attention will be paid to Lewis Carroll, so I will point out some notes about his biography and his main writings. The second part of the paper is devoted to Samuel Beckett´s writings ( Happy Days and Waiting for Godot ).

Finally, I will try to show some literary criticism that have been made to this particular authors, and some influences that other authors have received from them.
