These texts talk about the public sphere in internet. According to the texts, the public sphere has free acces and everyone can take part in it and it depens on free communication and discussion of ideas. So, technology is really important when you want to communicate your ideas. Another aspect which appears  in the text is that internet helps to the public sphere because people with the same interests and affinities can contact between them throught internet easily. There are people that creates organizations in the web where people can find help to theis problems or communicate with other people who have similar problems. However, internet is also a way to "manipulate" and influence the people in order to achieve the people believe the things are said in there. A good example of this is the electoral propaganda. There are also other sites in internet that allow you express your opinion (about a concret topic or about what you want) and your ideas.

The text is about the methods that the big companies used in internet to grow, specially Prodigy. They charge for every service they give to the people and they also have access to their electronic mails. They have special conditions and charges depending on the use of the users. They offer information to the users but they also publicize a lot of advertisments. So, they obstruct the growth of smaller companies.
