Abstract: This paper aims to recollect and deepen into the works of this genius of the Victorian’s age. In his early years, Thackeray had to own his living with his writings. He was very interested and skilled in journalism so he worked for some publications, primarily Fraser’s Magazine, where he published two of his main fictional works, Catherine (online book) and The Luck of Barry Lyndon. But the novel that really established his fame was Vanity Fair (online book), that appeared in serialized installments beginning in January 1847. Even before the work was completed, Thackeray became a celebrity and considered to be as the equal of Charles Dickens.
