Spatial elements

Dorothy Mc CRAE Abrona is a very complete work on the spatial aspect, the narrator takes us through multiple spaces of her memory, which was later described and quoted several times throughout most of the work.

That said, we turn to the analysis of the space given in this book, but first I thought it appropriate to divide the different spaces in: macro-spaces, and micro-spaces:

·       macro-spaces:

-       First, the narrator cites Hanover, the birthplace in which it makes numerous references. Apparently it is a quiet mountain where our protagonist lived a happy childhood.

-       Wellfleet: A place of coast, where Dorothy, used to spend the holiday and where he meets the young Lewis, her adulterous boyfriend. Over the years remember this as something very special place and part of his youth.

-       Throughout the book, cites multiple cities you travel to visit or exhibit their works or paintings in museums (despite his 81 years). Some of these cities are: California, Duncan Falls, New Hampshire and Oakland, among others....

-       Crockett on the other hand, the place where Dorothy lived with her husband, a mountain landscape and quiet similar to that of his childhood.

-       Ebbet: This is a cosy place, which is located near the Stanislaus River, where the elderly usually go to rest and for be detached from civilization.

-       Massachusetts: The narrator, names this place as something special, because it is the birthplace of his father, and this brings many pleasant memories, also appoints Boston as the birthplace of his mother but only in passing, without stopping to describe the place.

·       micro-spaces:

-        The first one is the studio where he painted, Dorothy. As we all know is a painter, despite his age, he uses all day painting, so this is an important place. According narrates, is a messy and disastrous because it has many documents and paintings, but above all as a sanctuary for her. However, just as we described in the first time, later references will no longer just rioja andalusia place names.

-       One of the micro-spaces, is the house where he lived with Luke, her husband, of she we have a wide description.

-       And finally, appoints other spaces but less relevant, as the study of her friend, Lea, or the Harrington Hotel, where Sid (her current boyfriend) declares his love for the first time.
