July

July: -> one thing stands out -> knowing Lea, she will never tell me why -> real writers tease out the details -> on beautiful handmade papers -> unintentional witness to these exchanges -> the opportunity to look at some art -> houses perched on the hills at the mouth of the straits -> but never the mothers or the baby carriages  -> a wartime chain of dislocation -> I drew it larger than actual size -> faded yellow roses with leaves of various hues -> half in the skin of the women who began to dominate the work -> behind me somewhere in the tall grass -> the remains of my solitary meal -> the guarded way she had looked at me -> the young man who answered the door -> It hadn't seemed particulary important -> a framed drawing of a man's shaving kit -> upset about the drawing -> Eleanor -> as if he had never been gone -> The drawing is finished .
