Structure

This section responds to a more general and superficial analysis, as in the previous sections we have been explaining in detail each tool used in the creation and operation of the hypertext.

Dorothy Abrona McCrae’s hypertext has a perfectly distribution which let us makes an easy reading. This distribution consist on a central frame where appear the texts which form the argument of the hypertext, and one or two external frames in which appear the different links for the correct operation of this hypertext.

-        The background does not change colour is always black. Neither the text font colour varies, is always white.

-        It keeps the history of the life of the protagonist.

-        Each page retains the same format and is narrated one day.

-        The text is perfectly centred by indentation on the sides.

-        None of the texts is long, are so shorts.

-        At the end of each text there is a central red line indicating that it has ended.

-        The place where the links are divided into two zones, the right and the left.

o      The right side:

-        The links belong to the different days narrated by the protagonist.

-        Apparently we can only see eight links, but as you click on those appear the new links.

-        The colour of this links is always yellow.

-        The reading order is from top to bottom. When you click a link, it disappears, and the text stored is open.

o      The left side:

-        Here are nine months of the year, from April to December.

-        The structure of the links is vertical, following a chronological order from top to bottom.

-        This links have always the same colour, white.

-        Each month has new links on its right side with new stories. Always visible only eight links, but within each month there are more links. April has 22 links, May 33, June 23, August consists of 28, September October 26, November 27, and December has 29 links.

-        If we click firstly on any month appears a new framework that maintains the links of the previous month. But once we click on any link of the new month, the external frame disappears and returns to be only one external framework.
