Analysis of the chapter 9
The name of this
chapter is “egestive rites to rid the female”. It´s more sarcastic than others, due to the use of sentences
like: "If your wife's menstrual blood goes
inside your nose you will be sick, age quickly” and
“Older youths can nose-bleed themselves so they can be courageous in battle”.
It inform us the
ritual techniques used are identified by the trees of forest, as images of
chapters show, and it say the smell of women pollute us, so we deduce that like
the worst. For that reason, he has inserted sword-like grasses by his nose, who
bleed.
Moreover, the images
illustrate the process of bleeding (James has one and wears leaves as a symbol
of nature) and how the mask throws out .a liquid (as the rest of femininity run
away its mouth).
