This statement is based on this fragment of the interview made by amgar2@alumni.uv.es to Sonya
Rapoport:
4.Amparo: Why you were decided to write hypertexts?
Which were your reasons?
Sonya: Because there is text in the
artwork, does not mean it is in
hypertext format.
I consider hypertext more interactive in that it gives options to
direct the flow. the flow of the narrative. All the information in my
piece is expected to be accessed.
8.Amparo: If you had to recommend some author
or his works, Which would be?
Sonya: The author is in the credits,
Gilbert Herdt, Professor of Anthropology.
Thank you, Sonya.
Amparo Garcés

Sonya Rapoport

”Contemporary attitudes, human concerns, current events, and scientific
material are interwoven metaphorically and humorously into my interactive
artworks - be they artist's books, web-based sites or installations. I
create within the context of comparitive cultures and other time periods an
aesthetic event that reflects our own culture and its place in history”.
