Space
I'm going
to do an analysis of space to place the space of this work.
First of all it is necessary to look at the title "Blue rooms”, Blue rooms
refers to the strange presence that Anna did not understand, but mainly , it
refers to the different dreams that she had in different places.
All these dreams took place in pools, lakes, rivers ... Hence the use of the
blue colour.
Continuing
with the analysis, it is necessary to highlight two types of spaces:
1)internal
First of
all it is necessary to emphasize that this book is divided into a true story,
memories and dreams, so the spatial analysis of each of them will be different.
Beginning with the story we can say that the story begins in New York, most notably with
Anna, the main character in her bedroom, specifically inside her bed. it is a
private space

Besides,
she also says that sometimes she stands on the chair and she pulls her sleeping
bag down from the closed ( she continues in her room), or she sleeps on the
carpet next to her parent’s room.
Next place
is the college of Anna, it will only be named, but is important highlight it,
because sit is a place outside Anna’s house, so we can see a change of site and
it is a public space
Later, Anna is going to Cincinnati
to Yanna’s apartment, There, she will spend be three months in summer.
http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cincinnat
The author does not say much about this place, only she says that it looks like
a museum, because Yanna has travelled a lot and she has got many things.
The next
place that appears in the story is a public space, it is a bar. Anna and the
medium are seated in chairs, talking on a table.
Here are a very short time because the medium says that this is not a good
place to speak, so Anna come back to the apartment.
Next day,
she gets up and then she leaves the apartment and she goes to the butcher a
because the medium wants chicken. Eventually , she goes to medium’s house.
Again , we are in a
private space, medium’s house. We can stress some features of this house:
It is a large light blue Victorian house and it smells like a cave. Also, there
is a room that it has a large bulb on a wire hanging from the ceiling and
another that has a 70's cabinesque and a lamp on the floor. Also , they speak
about the kitchen, but they don’t say nothing concrete.
Finally,
the last place is Fungai’s shack, another private place. Anna stays in Fungai’s
bed and also, she spends one day with Fungai in a boat sailing for Cincinnati.
Now I will
speak about Anna’s dreams. All these dreams appears in outdoors spaces.
Besides, these spaces , as I said before, they have a relationship with water,
such as, a bath, a pool, a lake, a river and an ocean
In another
dream she is at the bottom of a swimming pool, floating above, as if the
surface water was nightgowns and silky rippling.
In the next dream, she is in a neighbourhood of shacks with two girls.
Finally, she is in her
school with many children and she also sees a ship.
Eventually, she
remembers different situations that they occur in different places.
Anna
remembers when her grandmother was staying in a nursing home and also when
her father
took them to the different places where her grandmother had lived, all these
places were near of the sea.

If we see
the text on the screen, we can say the following things:
In every
screen appear a image next to the text. The background in all the screens are
blue, but it changes the tone according to the circumstances of the story, when
the tone changes, also change the images.
the images are square and symbols, and if we talk about the source, we can say
that the text is clear blue and the number of letters is Times New Roman 12.
The links are words highlighted in yellow.
