Dramatis personae
Joan A young girl, curious, always wants to know what is going on
Harper Joan’s aunt, mature woman, she is sweet with Joan. A woman of
principles.
Todd young man. He defends the rights of his work mates.
Plot
Joan is staying at her aunt’s house. At night she sees something very weird. She sees her uncle beating a person and a child; she sees blood and people confined in a ban. She asks about all that to her aunt. Her aunt, Harper explains her everything. He is helping them to run away and he was beating a traitor.
Several years latter we see Joan at work making hats with Todd. They work making hats for a parade of people going to execution. We also see how they fall in love with each other
Space
It happens in two different places; the country Harper’s house and the place where Joan and Todd work.
Time
It happens at night time and also at day time
Literary resources
They speak prose, colloquial English.
They use lots of metaphors, especially when referring to people in comparison with animals. Like for instance crocodiles and deer.
Other aspects
●Political and social: It denounces the bad things that happens during war period and
other circumstances where the Human Rights are not respected.
●Cost of production; It should not be too expensive to perform
●Technical; It should not give too much difficulties.
Personal opinion
There are many things that I do not
understand from the play although I have read it more than twice. However I
managed to get a rough idea of what it is all about. I like it because it
describes the situation that goes through many people in the world, like people
living a war or just the illegal immigration. Still do not know who are the
crocodiles or the deer, but it does not matter since I know there are many
crocodiles out there
