in George Orwell´s life, reflected in his novels.
Author or topic: George Orwell
Abstract or summary of the research in not more
than 100 to max.150 words: My work is going to consist of a
commentary on the most important novels of George Orwell, which are a reflexion
of the evolution of his political thought. I am not going to base my work
in just one of his novels, because all his novels have suggerent ideas
about the political problems of his time, but, as J. Ignacio Lacosta says,
these ideas are, in some cases, contradictory. This is why I consider it
is better to analyse some of his literary works -the most important ones-
to understand him better. His most important novels are the response to
important personal and political events that happened during his life:
belonging to the Imperial Police of Birmania; his contacts with the working
class in England; the Spanish Civil War; the evolution of the Soviet System
in the former Soviet Union; and the Cold War. All this events affected
his life and made him adopt a moral attitude and an involved position.
