SECOND PAPER

Subject : # 14217 Poesía Inglesa Siglos XIX y XX Grupo A

Student´s name : Esteve Bañuls, Itziar

Title of the paper : Victorians vs. Romantics

Author or topic : Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Alfred Lord Tennyson

Abstract (FIRST PAPER): This website is created to make an overview of  Romantic authors as William Blake, who belonged to the Romantic period. In it you can see one of his poems called “London” and through this poem you can know some characteristics of the real life at Blake’s time.

Abstract (SECOND PAPER): This abstract talks about the writers Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Alfred Lord Tennyson. Each one belonged to different periods of time; Coleridge belonged to the Romantic period and Tennyson belonged to the Victorian Era.

Through this work we can see the differences between both poets and the Romantic influences in Tennyson’s poem called “The Lady of Shalott”. The Romantic poem that I have chosen is called “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” written by Coleridge. Although these poems belonged to different periods of time, they have a lot of similarities and differences that you can see reading my work.

Auto-evaluation: After having made the two works and the two quizzes, I have learned a lot about two different periods of time such are the Romantic period and the Victorian period. The two works help me to understand the writings and the different feelings of many authors such as Blake and Tennyson who, through their works, teached us a lot about the suffering of poor people of their time.

I know that my works are not perfect works but I have worked hard to make them as well as I can and I have learned a lot making them. I passed the two quizzes, uploaded the quizzes questions into the weblogger, uploaded and finished the two papers on the fixed date, so I think that I deserve to pass this part of the subject.
