In this paper we are going to form our prognosis of the future of the theatre and for that we have to view the actual situation.

The truth is that in the actuality, the theatre is not traversing his best époque. The people prefer to go to the cinema for various reasons. The principal is that the people don’t want to think as they’re watching or reading something and they only want action movies or another thing like that. Even so, the people actually don’t want to even read any book or anything that can make think. Other causes are the (in some places) expensive cost of the entrances for it, and the people prefer to spend that money in other things like cinema that is cheaper, newspaper, magazines, books… Another is that most of the plays are serious and make the audience thinking, with complex characters and strange situations. Another of them, maybe is the lack of publicity in this world, and we can’t see publicity in TV, newspaper, or magazines specialized on theatre, although this is a bit of contradictory.

Mixing all these reasons, we find that actually, the theatre is one of the hobbies less practiced for the people.

But since the beginning of the century, a big quantity of authors have made adaptations of famous plays or made personal plays plenty of humour, sarcasm and full of social critic, but not for that, boring or with less quality, and the prizes of the entrances have fall down a bit and now are accessible for everyone with prizes that round the 6 € and finally, the more expensive of 30 € more or less. These things have made that the audience are a bit more interested on theatre.

Apart from them, there must be another solutions like these. For example, doing more publicity of the world of theatre. Actually, in the newspaper there are images with plays that are in billboard, and in TV there are publicity of the most important theatre of Spain too. But this is not enough, and the TV and newspaper must have a special space for theatre, and a special magazine only for theatre will be good for it.

My prediction it’s if everything keeps this way, the theatre will be more famous than ever because the people will be more and more interested on this hobby, even if there are serious plays, humoristic plays or sarcastic plays.
