A little about myself!!
Well, there I go... My name is Fernando Carrero, born the 9th of May, 1993. I live in Valencia, located on the eastcoast of Spain. Currently, I study at the Universitat de Valencia a translation and interpretation degree, in which I will learn german, portugese, french, italian, chinese... adding of course english, which I already speak fluently (I'm currently coursing CAE). The reason why I have made this website is quite simple: HOMEWORK XD. Yes, this is not for the sake of knowledge, or something like that: The reason behing it is as simple as my Computers proffesor saying: Made a website about ANYTHING YOU WANT. My god... For me, that was an invitation. :-P
My hobbies are:
- Reading: I particularly love Science-fiction and fantasy, but I usually read anything I find interesting: History books, thrillers...
- Playing Videogames: My favourite sagas are The Sly Cooper saga , Metal Gear Solid Saga , Batman Arkham Saga, Kingdom Hearts saga etc. (METAL GEAR= BEST VIDEOGAME EVER)
- Comics I love Batman, Spideran... But really, my favourite comic is Scott Pilgrim I LOVE THOSE COMICS. MASTERPIECES. PERIOD.
- Cinema: And, of course, cinema! What else? I love cinema, I love to breath movies, to study caracters, plots, effects... I love to know opinions from other people, and their thoughts about what I love (and even what I hate!). That's the reason why I decided to do this website, to show and expose my opinions about films (clasic or new ones).
Fernando's TOP TEN FAVOURITE MOVIES

With that said, I'm here to show, talk and explain which are my favourite movies and why do I love them, explaining which impact did they have on my, etc. Movies which sucked me into the story. THOUGHTS AND COMENTS
- My thoughts on Braveheart : My god... What an epic movie. And it's not and stupid movie ( Troy, even being epic, still wasn't... you know? Good GOOD...) But this one is different. Mel Gibson makes a great performance, and the shots, the editing, the story... All match up perfectly. 8/10
- My thoughts on Mirror, Mirror: Well, I had a good time, a few laughts, there was some action... AND IT HAD BOROMIR FROM THE LORD OF THE RINGS! (F*cking love that guy XD) What did you expect? For me it was just fine! 6.4/10
- My thoughts on Alien3: Buff... I need a drink... That was LAME! WHAT WHERE THEY THINKING! Waiting to see the director's cut to see if there's actually an improvement. ¬¬ Eventhougth, there were some cool things... 5.5/10
- My thoughts on John Carter: Nothing great, but nothing horrible. I wasn't expecting much, so what I saw was enough (the begining was fun ^^). 6.4/10
- My thoughts on The tourist: Wondering the reason why this movie had 2 Oscar nominations... But, hey! Penélope Cruz has one, so not big shock... The movie is ok, It definetly isn't "Oscar material" but it's ok... My only problem is how much I HATE Angelina. Well, not even Angelina, but the caracters she usually plays: The caracter she played in Wanted, in Tom Rayder, in Mr and Mss Smith, in Salt (By the way, those are terrible movies) I hater that those caracters have always the same stupid face she always makes! She is not even acting... And what I hate the most is that she can act. She has a few good movies! Well, it doesn't matter... History ok (In my opinion, there are some plotholes), Johnny Deep ok (Deffinetly not his best performance) and... Well, that's it. Venice looks fantastic. 5.7/10
- My thoughts on The Hunger Games Impresive, really really good. It captures the essence of the book, but introducing the changes needed in order to convert the book into a movie. My only two problems with the film are the shaky cam, mostly during the first half of the film, and hoe maybe, if I hadn't read the book, I wouldn't have found the characters underdeveloped. Besides that, I think the movie was put together perfectly, with some really heavy and shocking moments. 7.7/10
- My thoughts on The Avengers Again, IMPRESSIVE. REALLY REALLY GOOD action flick. Everybody will love it. This is the perfect example of a movie being entertaining as well as "stupid", I mean, is not stupid, Transformers was stupid, but this is just one of the greatest superhero movies ever made. I wouldn't say the best because for me The Dark Knight is one of the best movies of all time, but really, this one deserves to be in the top 5 superhero movies. Lets see, the story was perfect, it is silly and simple, but it works perfectly, it gives their audience what they are looking for, and even more. It has funny moments without using into the typical or silly jokes, the characters are memorable (it really helps that the main characters were already developed). Only problem, I still consider Norton to be the best HULK, although Rufalo does a great, great jod. Loki looks fantastic and ofr the record, he's character is more interesting than it was in Thor. Of course, Robert Downey Jr is the one who gives the best performance: He feels really confortable playing Iron Man, and he's really well writen, his quotes are memorable and funny, and the attitude, combined with the way he plays the hero, is fantastic. Of courdse it has its flaws, but hey! It's a really well shot well written and really entertaining film, with great moments of fun, epicness and intense intense dialoge. It gave me what I wanted, and even more. 9/10.
- My thoughts on A tres metros sobre el cielo PIECE OF CRAP, I'll talk about it once I get ready. -10/10
- My thoughts on Dark Shadows This is the Burton I like. This is not his best movie, but I can see that he and Depp were having a lot of fun while shooting this movie. The reason is that, for those who don't know, both Depp and Burton were fans of the original TV series Dark Shadows (Which for the record, I've never seen). Johnny looks great for this job, his acting is great and funny, and his lines are hilarious. He even does the Bella Lugosi hand thing when he's hypnotising people. It follows the typical Burton formula, and the "Fish out of water" story, but in a way that looks original, with some great moments and even some shocking ones. But, as much as I liked this movie, there are some issues with it: Not all the characters are well developed, and some of the plots are not explained or ended. And over the end of the movie they add some character discoveries that just seem out of place and silly. The acting is still good, of course, being the most interesting parts the ones involving Depp, Eva Green and Pfeiffer. It is also necesary to point out the cameos! Christopher Lee as the fisherman is nice (After all, he's one of the most famous vampires in cinema history) but really brief, just like in Alice in wonderland (What an awful movie) I just don’t see the point of having him if you are just gonna use it for a few seconds. The other cameo is F*CKING ALICE COOPER AS HIMSELF! Oh my god...I have to admit that it was pretty cool. The good thing is that he doesn’t act, he just appear to sing, which is awesome. And speaking about the music, let's talk about the soundtrack: Once again, Danny Elfman worked alongside Burton and we know how good he is, but right now, I just don’t remember any original theme on the soundtrack of the film, which is bad. The soundtrack basically cosisted of old 70's Rock’n’Roll hits, such as Paranoid, top of the world or Alice Cooper songs, which I guess is good, cuz they are really goood songs, but I was expecting more from someone like Elfman. Overall, entertaining and funny flick, but with some flaws (mostly related to the script) which arejust imposible to ignore. If you like Burton and his previous job, you’ll find it just fine, if you can’t stand his cliches and how his characters get underdeveloped, go and watch another film. 6.7/10
