MYRTHE´S REPORT
MYRTHE´S REPORT
Hello,
I’m Myrthe and I live in the Netherlands, the country of bikers!
When I was 4 years old, I got my first bike. My mom and dad taught me to ride
it so I could go to school on my own. My first bike was pink, and I loved
it! My school was just a 10-minutes drive from where I lived, but it always
seemed such a long way home…
Twice me and my mom went on vacation by bike. We packed our clothing, a tent
and some food and cycled around the Netherlands, we did 100 kilometers in
2,5 days. I know that;s not a lot, but I was very proud of that when I had
the age of 6 years! (((the picture i send you is from my first holiday on
bike!)))
The second time we went on vacation we cycled to the border with Germany and
one afternoon we biked to Germany, that was great!
Then I moved to another town, when I was in 7th grade. I moved to a small “mountain”, one of the few mountains in my flat and plain country. Anyway, now I cycle everyday more than an hour, 9 km to school, down hill and 9 km up hill. I don;t really love to cycle, it’s not a special thing to do because the bicycle is about the most used transport in the Netherlands. I like cycling because I always cycle to school with my friends and we can have a good chat.
I hate cycling when it’s raining and you have to cycle home with your heavy school bag… In winter it’s very pretty outside when it has been snowing, but it’s dangerous too! Every year people break their legs because they fell and there are a lot of car accidents… so all we can do is say to our grandma's to stay inside and just hope the snow will be gone soon!
