The Bard of
Avon:
Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon
@
As
stated by the author of the homepage this is a completely bilingual site on
Shakespeare, his works, his plays and his birthplace. To access the English
version we just have to click on the
HOME link on the top right
part of the main Japanese page. The website is a product of an amateur. She is a
teacher of Japanese language who lives in Stratford-upon-Avon, whose name is
Michiyo, and who decided to create this page out of an afternoon of boredom and
because of her interest on Shakespeare.

It is not a homepage of an incredible
quality, but it is an interesting attempt for a Japanese university student to
build up a private web site with Shakespeare as its main theme, that combines it
with other unrelated information such as the diary of the author and some
samples of Japanese lessons. Although the amount of relevant information on
Shakespeare and its depth is not astonishing, it is a well crafted homepage,
with a clear structure, and with some interesting corners like a few videos on
some of the festivals of Stratford, or a guide of hotels and places of interest
on city. There is even a
Shakespeare Searchable Quotation Database. Within the
Shakespearefs section, there is also a section on Shakespearefs life which
even includes a complete family tree. Finally, apart from various sections about
the playwright and his works, there is a section with links (some of them
external) to web versions of the complete texts of Shakespearefs works.
