Cervantes’ Famous Quotes

    This is a humble but interesting page that is actually a link of a main page. The author of this website, probably an amateur who created it for fun, calls himself Kuroneko (black cat), so, again, there is no information about the author and the reasons that impelled him to create such a site. This website is a collection of famous world maxims or proverbs quoted from different sources, such us literature, cinema or essays.

    The main page consists of a list of links accompanied by short explanation. Each link belongs to a different category: jokes, love, literature, cinema, psychology, etc.　Within the “great personalities of the world history" section, we access to a page with a list links under the names of famous celebrities such as Goethe, Ibsen, Shakespeare, Rousseau, Schopenhauer among which there is the name of Cervantes. Clicking on this link will take us to a page with famous maxims from “Don Quixote” and “Novelas Ejemplares”. Maxims in Japanese such as, “not all that shines is gold” or “as long as there is bread all grieves can be tolerated”.

    Apart from a brief biography on Cervantes, this site does not offer a great amount of information on the author or the novel, but it is still an attempt of introducing Cervantes in the Japanese culture through the internet.
