The Shakespeare Theater and Plays

This is a homepage constructed by Hiroyoshi Ikeda, a specialist on biology and physics but who had always had a deep interest in literature, cinema and music. He is now teaching in a high school of the Kanagawa Prefecture. The first impression on the page is not very good and neither is the second. If we think about the possibilities that the html format offers us, we will agree that there are many ways in which we could improve the presentation of the page, organizing the links and the information in a much clearer way. However, this is one of the pages where the creator is more interested in the contents than in the form.

If we have the patience to read through the web and visit the links that are placed sort of randomly we will find that we are in front of a very interesting and thought provoking  site about the presence of Shakespeare in the world of cinema for the last decades. Almost any movie based upon a play by the British author seems to be included in this page. Again, in spite of the quality of the intellectual contents, a reform on the presentation of the main page would attract many more of the hasty web surfers that normally do not have the time to find out whether a web page is worth for its actual contents.

This homepage is actually a link that belongs to Ikeda’s main homepage, which is a collection of articles in several subjects. He, himself states at the top of the main page that his website will be a text focused homepage.
