A Theatrical Company: Shakespeare Theatre

Although in a smaller scale, this page is similar in nature to the Shakespeare Society of Japan website. It was created by the society itself, and has the intention of introducing the theater company to the internet visitor as a business presentation card. Thus, the website has no didactic purpose for the person who wants to get to know about Shakespeare and his works through the internet. The Shakespeare Theatre is a company founded in 1975 with the aim of offering representations of all Shakespeare’s 37 plays. The company owns its own theater house in Tokyo, where all the plays are represented, as well as its group of actors.

The homepage site map is again simple and easy to follow. On the top of the page, under the logo, there is a line index with ten links to other sections: main page, description of the company, map and address of the theater house, list of the plays that were represented together with their year, list of members, information about future representation, a research institute on Shakespeare that belongs to the company, list of sponsors, representations on schools and list of DVDs and videos with the recordings of the plays represented in the past few years. Finally, the main page acts as a bulletin board with news and events related to the company or to Shakespeare in general.
