THE THEATRE IN THE FUTURE

This is the fourth and last parper I do, at least I hope so. This fourth paper I’m going to explain, since my point of view, the theatre in the future.

I think that is very difficult to know and even to think about the future of the theatre, nobody can tell us what is going to happen, but we could make an idea if we see the theatre nowadays very carefully. So, let’s start.

First, I have to say that every day the theatre dies a little bit more, unfortunately. Nowadays very few people is interested in the theatre, because the TV and the cinema seems to be funnier, and the people is becoming more and more stupid. The same is happening with the literature. The people prefer watching a brilliant film with great special effects before to have to read the story in a book and having to imagine themselves the special effects or in theatre where the special effects are not as good as in films.

The playwrights know it, so every day more and more, they are including in their plays audiovisual effects and even they mix the audiovisual effects with the theatre, as they do in “Pica, ratlla, tritura” where the characters were introduced in the audiovisual by means of shadows. So, I think that all the plays will mix theatre and audiovisual effects. This is one of the possibles futures of the theatre

On the other hand, I have realized that the music never ends, and we are always remembering music of last times. Everybody likes music, so nowadays is fashionable to make musical based in the music of some old band of musica as “Hoy no me puedo levantar” that is based in the songs of the band Mecano, or “Mamma mia” based in the songs of the band Abba. Make a musical based in the music of bands that everybody knows and everybody likes is a advantage, because it means that all the fans that those bands had they will go to see the musical of their favourite band:

This kind of theatre allows to the audience enjoy double because they can see a performance, a story that it happens but at the same time it is as if they were in a concert of their favourite band. For this reason, in my opinion this is one of the posibles futures of the theatre, to make comercial musicals wich they like everybody and they could make in other countries, like Mamma Mia that was made frst in England, or Hoy no me puedo levantar, that now is going to performance in Mexico:

Other kind of theatre that in my opinión is going to happens in the future I think that it is a theatre abstract, alternative wich will show things that the people like to see,  morb things. For example I remember that a friend of me told me that he had seen a play where the actor takes his own blood in the performance and later he cooked and he eated and he offered to the audience to taste. This kind of theatre where the actor do things that apparently have no sense I think maybe other future for the theatre.

I don’t think that the theatre will disappears, I think it keep going but with a lot of problems. In my opinion the government should do something, it shoul to promote the theatre to the people, as they do with the literature. I think that in the school should have a subject about theatre since the people are child. I don’t think that the goverment do anything, however, the theatre never dies, because there will be always who likes the theatre and makes theatre.
