Dramatis personae

_Richar III: He is the main character. He is deformed, he has a deffect in the left arm, he can’t move it and a big hunched back.He is one of the king’s brother, and he wants the crown, so he have to kill everybody who is going to inherit the crown until he gets the crown. He is a ambitious character, a bad character,  we can observe it since the beginning. He shows no mercy in all the play, he doesn’t mind to kill a boy, a young or and old person, but he never do it, he always order to kill.

_Ratcliff: He is the Richard’s arm to kill everybody who he needs to kill. He is the murder of everybody, he makes everything what Richard says. He has a lot of freeze blood. He’s ambitious and bad too. At the end he is killed by Richard, in the battleground.

_Clarence: He’is the Richard’s brother. He is sent to the prision by his elder brother because the oracle said that he would kill the son of the king. He is betrayed by his brother and killed by Ratcliff because Richard told him to do it.

Buckingham: He is the Richard’s cousin. Richard get his help, lying him and promising him that he would give some lands. He shows loyalty to Richard and support him but when he has made his job, he wants what he was promised. So, at the end Richard orders to kill Buckingham.

Richmond. He is the oponent of Richard in the war. He is french. He kill Richard in the battle.

_Queen Elitzabeth: He is the queen, the woman of the Richard’s brother. Richard and Elitzabeth don’t like each other, they hate each other because Richard is the killer of her husband and sons.

Space

The play  is placed in England, in many places, in the castle, in the prision, in a wood.

The space in this play is an empty space. The stage is empty. There’s no setting. There’s juast a nude scenray. There is no reference in the setting to the place where they are. The succession of the scenes is made by a dark light.

Lights

Lights are very important in this play because the lights makethe aundience know where the characters are. There is a different light for each scenary, so, by means of the light you can know where they are, because theres no reference in atrezzo or setting that told us where they are.

This play is a very dark play. The lights are very low.  The light goes above the characters when they are in stage. The most important thing about lights in this play is that the lights are used to show the audience where the scene take place.

Clothes

The clothes in this play are historic clothes, because the play was written in the 15th century. The clothes are elegant because the class of the characters is a high class. The play is rich in dresses,  cape, weaves, etc.

Atrezzo

As atrezzo, in this play appear a cross, a throne with a carpet, a bathtube transparent. An important thig in this play is that the atrezzo would have to be as they were in that age but, they are made with a modern design.

Audience atmosphere

It happened nothing strange during the representation. Being not a comedy the audience don’t laugh in any moment. The only moment when the aundience react was when the actor who plays the role of Clarence take off his clothes and remain naked, I don’t know why.

Personal opinion

I consider that this is a very interesting play, because the play was write in the 15th century and the plays in that age were very different than the contemporary plays. So I consider that its interesting how the text is adapted and the performance is made.

I think that the director has get adapt the text and the play to the present, Although there are moment when the play is a little bit boring.

I like very much the main character, the actor that plays the role of Richard. I think he is a good actor, and he has a very clear, efficient voice and a perfect diction.

However I think that the play would be better if it had a good setting.
