Dramatis personae

_Pruden: She wants to find a man. So she meets with Oscar by chat. She always look for the lacks of he people, so she never gets the perfect man. She doesn’t like that the men weep. She goes to a psychoanalyst, Dr. Martone. When she meets Teo, the boyfriend of Oscar, they don’t get on well. She is a very weak person, but she tries to appear that she isn’t.

_Oscar: He is bisexual. He meets with a girl, Pruden, in a restaurant by means of a chat. He is very sensitive and he weeps very often, but he doesn’t mind that people see him crying, he is proud of showing his feelings. He goes to a therapy and his psychoanalyst helps him with his troubles. He falls in love with Pruden.

_Dr. Martone: He is the psychoanalyst of Pruden. He tries to make the love with Pruden all the time. He is obsessed with her. He usually sleeps with his patients, but he has a problem, he is a premature ejaculater, and when the women tell it to him he gets angry. He is very sarcastic.

_Dra. Bornikof: She is a crazy psychoanalyst. She is the Oscar’s psychoanalyst. She has two problems: she has a very bad memory, and she never find the exactly word for what she wants mean. She always make the therapy with a small doll.

_Teo: He is gay. He is the couple of Oscar. They live together. He has jelousy of Pruden, because he wants Oscar for him, only for fim, so he tries to make that Pruden don’t have dinner with Oscar and discuss with Pruden. At the end he has to go to the psycho analyst of Oscar because he wants to kill himself.

_Andi: A very strange character. He hasn’t  hardly dialogue. He is the waiter of the restaurant. He will become in the end in the couple of Teo. He was in a borstal when she was younger.

Space

The space represented is a triple space in just one. The spaces are a restaurant, the Oscar’s flat, and the therapy rooms. There is a bar at bottom of the stage, and a lot of  chairs and sofas all of them have a modern design and they are made of leather. In front of the bar there is a table and beside it there is another one smaller. In the front part of the stage there are a sofa in the left and in the right there is  a sofa with a little table with magazines and a telephone. It’s space very loaded, there is no empty space in the stage. It’s a set very colouring, the sofas are made of strong colour. Also there are two light poster wich it’s written “restaurant” and “apartment”, and they are lighted depend on where the scene is.

Lights

There is a spot that light all the stage and after there is differents spots that light differents parts of the stage. The lights of the bottom are blue, and the rest there are white lights, but also orange. The most of the time there is only lighted the part of the stage where the actors are, and the rest is in half light. There is two lamps which take part in the set design, they are switched on. There are dark lights to show that the time has gone.

Clothes

The characters wear contemporary clothes. There are changes of clothes during the play. At first, Pruden, when she has met when Oscar by first time, she wears elegant clothes, but later when she goes to have dinner with him she wears a ridiculous dress. The same happens with the dra. Bornikoff when she is with talking with Teo, she wears a ridiculous dress. The clothes of the waiter when he is not working are informal. The clothes of Oscar, Estefano, and Teo are formal clothes.

Atrezzo

In this play, we see a lot of atrezzo. There are chairs, tables, lamps, a bar, sofas, and a little table beside one of the sofas, where above it there is a telephone. Each character has his own atrezzo. For example, the waiter, Andi, has a helmet; Dra. Bornikoff has a small dolly of Peggy, from “los teleñecos”; Dr. Martone has always a folder, etc.

Theatre atmosphere

This play is very funny comedy. So, all the time the audience is laughing. Also was a moment when the audience was frightened because Teo shoot a pistol and nobody hopes to hear a shoot.

During the performance we could hear fireworks outside the theatre, and in the box beside us there were some people who was eating during the performance.

Personal opinion

This is a very funny play, one of the better I’ve ever seen. The text is nothing bored, is very funny since the play starts until the plays ends. I like the dressed stage and the colouring of the setting, it makes the play interesting, it pickes up the atention of the audience.

The best of this play are the actors, all of them well-known in Valencia. Marta Belenguer is a great actress who last year was in the Oscars because the short film wich she was the starring was nominated, and she has appeared in the serial “Aqui no hay quien viva” playing a role perfectly. I like her very much. Mamen Garcia I had heard about her but I never had seen her, and she is a very good actress, very funny. And the resto of actors are very good too.

Although the play is long enough, it last around two hours, it isn’t bored, because you are all the time laughing, and the audience don’t want that the play ends.

It is a play which I recommend to see.
