FIRST PAPER
Subject :# 14159 Curso Monográfico Grupo A
Title of the paper :"Shakespeare in performance"
Author or topic :Del Canto Caterina (Shakespeare William)
Abstract :For my first paper I chose to write a character study of Katherina from The Taming of the Shrew, evaluating her possibilities of achieving happiness. For my second paper I decided to write about Oberon from Twelfth Night as part of a group paper which focussed on manipulation. My third paper is a comparative study of the characters of Katherina from The Taming of the Shrew and Viola from Twelfth Night. My fourth and final paper is about aspects of 'camouflage' in Shakespeare, particularly relating to the cases of Viola from Twelfth Night, Hero from Much Ado About Nothing and Rosalind from As You Like It.
Auto-evaluation:This was the first time that I had read any of these plays by Shakespeare, but I really enjoyed studying them. I hope that the enjoyment that I gained from reading these plays, and from the course in general, is reflected in the papers that I have produced. I had to work very hard to find suitable material to use as citations for my papers as my first language is Italian. I therefore feel that I showed quite a lot of commitment in overcoming this obstacle and did not let it detract from my enthusiasm for the course. I realise that I might have some shortcomings regarding my level of English, but I have worked hard to make my papers work as best as I possibly can. I feel that due to the commitment that I have shown and the hard work that I have put into my papers that I deserve a 7 as mi 'nota final'.
