Title of the paper: A revolution in linguistics: The transformational Generative grammar, a new language description.

Author or topic: The transformational Generative (TG) grammmar. Noam Chomsky's work.

Abstract or summary of the research in not more than 100 to max.150 words:

The Transformational Generative (TG) grammar was a linguistic theory which appeared in the mid-20th century. The origins of it was Syntactic Structures (1957) by Noam Chomsky.

I'm going to investigate on how Generative grammar attempts to define rules that can generate the infinite number of grammatical sentences possible in a language; and how Transformational grammar wants to identify rules that governs relations between parts of a sentence.

Then I want to establish a comparison between perfomance&competence versus langue&parole.

And at the same time take a view to the Structural linguistics, based on Bloomfield's work (1935), and to the classical or traditional grammar. Then study the evolution until the TG grammar.

Finally I want to focus on the work of Chomsky, the articles about him, his profiles, the interviews, his essays, and his influence on language acquisition.
