MAIN CHARACTERS:

NARRATOR: She tells the story. She is Andy’s girlfriend
and
Allie’s friend, but she cannot put up with Rodrigo, her ‘boyfriend’.
She has
just arrived to L.A. to live with Andy, but their life together is not
as they had
guessed. She seems to be a very emotionally unstable person who does
not know
what she wants. She likes Andy because she needed to put some peace in
her
messy life and he would never do anything that could hurt her. But she
also
needs a more exciting daily life, as her friend has. She admired Allie
a lot,
she was attracted by her and even left Andy because of a lesbian sex
relation
she had with her. It is strange but her name is not mentioned in the
whole
text; Neither is the place she came
from.

ANDY: He is the narrator’s boyfriend. He is a very
simple
person who works 15 hours a day (Although his job is not mentioned) and
go from
house to the office and vice versa. He is got a plain life: he does
boring
shopping, lives boring music and comes with his brother to see their
mother.
But the woman needed some excitement in her life, and he could not
offer such
thing to her. In the end, when he became aware of her girlfriend’s
relation
with Allie, they split up and started living on their own
again.

ALLIE: She is our narrator’s best friend. They met
in a
meeting with other friends, were Allie laughed at one of her comments.
Since
then, they had become closer. But Allie was more open-minded than he
friend, she had more liberal relationships with men
and
women than Andy’s girlfriend. She seemed to be interested on her friend, on giving advice to her but in the end she
did not
brother. She was only thinking about her career, now as an actress,
than of
her. The recovering model was always complaining that her friend always
put
Andy before friends and that she needed her a lot too. But when she
started a
relationship with Rodrigo, a film director who gave her papers if she
had sex
with him, it was she who ignored her friend, even when Andy had left
her and
she phoned her.

RODRIGO: He is Allie’s boyfriend. He is a film
director who
took advantage of Allie: by promising her a good role in a film, she
could have
sex with her. Our narrator almost hates him; and Allie takes care that
the
comments her friend says were not to plain to be addressed to her
boyfriend.
·
THERAPIST: He is helping the narrator and Andy to
overcome all
those problems they are arguing a lot about. It seems that he is the
only one
who has a normal behavior: It is
like he
is not affected by the current times of living fast and with no
control. Or he
knows how to hide his real thoughts, because he is patient and polite
when
talking to the narrator: he is the only one who really understands her
although
she did not follow his advice: she was scared of thinking in a life
without
Andy and his stability.

MIKE:
He is
Andy’s
brother and only appears in one node: Escape stories. He is in love
with Karen
and it seems that he does not mind she was married with a man who shot
himself.
The narrator shows that she does not like the way Mike and Karen call
each
other. Also, He has got M&M’s and he was not going to share them with
Andy’s girlfriend. This thing annoys her.

KAREN:
She is Andy’s brother’s girlfriend. It seems
that the
narrator cannot put up with her: she likes to bother her by asking if
she could
tell them how her last husband’s death was. She also cannot stand the
way she
calls Mike.
