STUDENT'S NAME : Mª FLOR RODA MOTA
TITLE OF THE PAPER : ROMANTICISM REPRESENTED BY WALTER SCOTT
AUTHOR OR TOPIC : SIR WALTER SCOTT
ABSTRACT OR SUMMARY OF THE RESEARCH IN NOT MORE THAN 100 TO MAX. 150 WORDS :
Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832) was poet and novelist, so I will treat both
parts.
Firstable I will talk about
his work as a romantic poet; influenced clearly by this historic movement.
We will see how important are the history and landscapes of Scotland for
him. He will show us this themes in his narrative poems such as
" Lay of the last minstrel" or " Lady of
the Lake" . This style of writting made him succesful but we will have
also to explain about his period as historical novelist.
We will know about his novels in which Europe, overall France, England
and Scotland are descripted through the popular characters, the countrysides
.... like in Quentin Durward, Rob Roy, Waverley and so on...
We will see also his predilection for religious, politics and cultural
themes treated with objective direct eyes and with a curious humor.
