Some characters
AKIVA Akiva is the first character who appears in the play with
Berthe. He was a priest before he knew Berthe, but then he was called ‘The Lost
Boy’ because he thought that God was lost.
In Chapter XIII Akiva is involved in the ‘branch’ of the story in which
appear Paula, Clark, Luz and Fuego.
He
demonstrates in all moment, he is very brave ( some examples are when he helps
a woman in her childbirth or when he helps Paula, Clark … )
BERTHE Berthe is described like a person
who had always needed to be careful because she’s a witch . Akiva and Berthe
must be together because they love each other. Berthe’s mother and family are
also mentioned in Sara Peyton’s work.
Berthe gets
married with Glukish, a big lanky man with a
high forehead, in chapter VI. She is fill with fear in all the story
because of being a witch (like in chapter XI when they try to kill her). So, it
brings problems to her.
EFFIR NIJE Efirr
Nije appears in the second ‘branch’ of the story, in the third chapter. He is
tall and thin. He is the opposite than Paula, while she’s fair, he’s dark, Paula's earnest gaze a little
frantic, Efirr's blank as death.
PAULA MAXWELL Paula Maxwell ; some characteristics of her have been
metioned before. She’s also short and stocky.
She appears
in almost quite the book, she is always with Clark, and then with Luz and
Fuego. Akiva and Berthe joined them later too.
LUZ Luz, is a clever girl who had
saved Fuego from becoming a murdered. Luz, Paula, Clark and Fuego appear
together in chapter V, in this moment, things start to be connected.
FUEGO Fuego is Luz’s father. He was half Eyimalian
and half Outlander. He loves her daugther ( an example is when he rescues
her from the river , because she had fallen into the water).
CLARK Clark is always in the story with Paula.
These are some of the characters of
the book, I haven’t described all the characters, but I have chosen the most
important characters.
