A FEW TIME BEFORE  15TH SEPTEMBER 1994
It is the time when the story takes place. Andrew, Kirsten and the narrator meet in front of the house. It is an odd wooden construction, which has not been inhabited for many years. They feel attracted by the strange house and by the facts which took place in it fifty years before, related to Mrs. Kaplin` s death.

15TH SEPTEMBER 1994
It is the date of one of the ends. The narrator is the only one alive of those who enters Mrs. Kaplin`s house. Andrew, Kirsten and Shona have died recently, and their deaths have been caused by fire. The narrator is convinced he is going to be the next one, and he thinks they should have stayed away from the Kaplin house. Or once they got there, they should have accepted the challenge.

He thinks if there is another world, they will face the house with hard hearts and fight.

WHEN I WAS SEVENTEEN
In the story there is a moment when the narrator and Kirsten have a blackout. They find themselves sitting on the house’s top stair, and they cannot remember how they got there. Moreover, Andrew has disappeared during this time. This is the reason why the narrator remembers when he was around seventeen, then he used to drink a lot and sometimes he had blackouts. Andrew is the only friend he kept in touch with from those days.
