Title of the paper: William Blake and Gerard Manley Hopkins: myth,
religion and Christianity.
Author or topic: William Blake (1757-1827) and Gerard Manley
Hopkins (1884-1889).
Abstract: This paper will
focus on the analysis and comparison of one Romantic poet an another related to
Victorian Age. I have choosen to follow my work with William Blake and his poem
“The Lamb”(1789) and explain all the similiarities with Gerard Manley Hopkins
and his poem “Pied Beauty” (1877). Both defend the idea of the existence
of a benevolent creator who has made all
the beautiful things in the world and give praises to him; God has created an intricate world that is astonishing in its variety
and without him beauty would not exist. The
main points of this study will be the influence of religon in their lifes and
their writings and also the importance and some curiosities in their common
mysticism. Do not forget that Blake was always determined by his Christianity
and Hopkins was ordenated as a priest in
1877.
Auto-evaluation: I consider I have worked enough for
the preparation of my papers and I hope to get a 5.
