ELECTRONIC FRONTIERS AND ONLINE ACTIVISTS by Howard Rheingold.

This article tells us how CMC networks in the Net started in the early 1980s, thanks to a man called Dave Hughes, a former official of the US Army, who decided to devote his life to connect people through the Net to help them solve their problems and to manifest their ideas.
Reading this article we learn how, encouraged by Dave, a lot of people belonging to different communities (from rural teachers up to a group of  Women victims of abuse) could have a free access to very important information using their computers.
In this way people started to communicate each other, and important personalities paticipated in this kind of projects giving free advice on any topic to either ordinary people or NGO's around the USA.
Howard reminds us how important it is to know our rights in the cyber space and to know that Electonic Frontiers are not always what the big companies like Microsoft, IBM,Apple and so on want them to be.Electronic Democracy is"a must" for current and future generations.
