Inside the extensive work of Chesterton I need to remark one of his most important character: THE FATHER BROWN.

This character belongs to his set of detective stories, Father Brown is a priest of a rural church.

His adventures make him to be involucrate in all of types of mysterious, robberies, murders…

He always detects the person who is guilty.

But the most important characteristic of him is not this, is his human capacity. Chesterton uses this character to remarks the importance of person leaving apart the sin, Father Brown never accuses somebody, he believes in the human capacity to regenerate.

Father Brown analyses human personality, but always from his mercy, knowing that also he can inclusive to become a murderer.

This wisdom allows him forgive the guilty and help him to regenerate.

Father Brown is short man, always dressed in cassock, and always carrying an old umbrella, is a curious person.

In his personality attracts for his humility, his wisdom, his intelligence, and his capacity to forgive, of course.

Never in this kind of literature, one character is, for us, close and remote. Close for the reality of this character and remote for his wisdom, faith, and clairvoyance, like Father Brown.
