Abstract : Among the writers of this age; at the end of XIX century and beginning of XX, is necesary to detach Chesterton for many reasons, but before all of them, because of his special way of seeing life.
        In 1922 he became catholic, this fact strengthen his beliefs.
        He reacted against socialism and the new ideas. Intelectual opponent of Shaw, Weller, Kipling, he became a cristianism defending, but always from the common sense.
        His main book is "Orthodoxy"(1908), wich contains the base of his thoughts.
        I want to place my work in this book, embracing the most influent aspects of his life. I will try also to analyse the character created by him: The Father Brown.
