INSIDE THE HOUSE

8th of June 1994: occurred in the house telling in this stroy but 50 years before, in 1994 (past).

House: go into the house, Andwe first, after kirsten and the last one, "myself" closed the door. The door led to a back staircase, its deep red carpet festering with mould. The stairs were rotten from years of rain. Through the landing door the decor seemed better; but I could swear I felt something moving in there.

Broken: inside the house. First to go into was Andrew, after Kirsten and finally "myself".

Landing door: inside the house.
"dark corridors, broken windows; small steps up to a raised floor which led off to some other darkened niche." 

Led off: inside the house.
"We hurried up three steps into a close, dark corridor." "This was a bedroom, tidy despite years of disuse. The bedspread was a deep, lush red in the faltering light from the window, the frame dark iron. A picture on the wall showed another house at night, with the same kind of frantic architecture as this one, overlapping towers and balconies."

"Myself": "For an instant I caught the smell of smoke. I turned to track it down, but it eluded me in the way smells often do." Kirsten went down on her knees before the fireplace.

Fixated: "The room no longer seemed hot; it was now cold and dead", because of the fire

Doorway: inside the house, upstairs.
they lost Andrew before. Someone was at the same house, but not Andew.

Away: inside the house.

Opened it: inside the house, upstairs.
Opened the door and appeared Shona and asked for Andrew, but they didn't know anything about him.

She said: They speak about there was fire downstairs and... END
