VARIACIONES DE GOLDBERG
The
play to comment is the Goldberg’s variations. The play took
place
the
19 of October to the 11 of December in the theatre Rialto of
Valencia. The
company,
the distribution, and the artistic and technical personnel we can
find in the
attached
pamphlet.
DRAMATIS
PERSONAE:
Mr.
Jota: as it says in the pamphlet is "a director of
scene divine, and demonic simultaneously, authoritarian, paternal,
tyrannical, jealous, charming and hateful". He
enchants the sound track of the Variations of Goldberg of Bach
that uses the spectacle throughout modifying melody, harmony and
rhythm. He does in one of the
passages of the bible like
Aaron and when he speaks by the microphone it is as if it made
the voice of God
Goldberg:
He is the protagonist. He is
the direction assistant and
also interprets some characters like Moises and the same Jesus.
He is a person who takes himself very in serious her work, is
educated and considerate with the others
Raamah:
he is one of the actors, is the most demanding. He
interprets papers like Caín, Adan, Abraham and is one of the
angels of hell. He is thin and
he does not give to shame
anything.
Masch:
he is another one of the actors, always does what Raamah does.
He interprets to Abel, the serpent, the Abraham's wife (Sara)
also is another one of the angels.
He is fat and he is less
demanding than Raamah
Jafet:
he is an author dissatisfied.
He plays the papeer of angel,
of smoke, Isaac and also he is angel of the hell. He is
very graceful
Mari:
she is the cleaner and Mr Jota's lover. She is very
likeable, always is cleaning, at the end has a paper like
virgin
Ernestina
Van Veen: she is the manager of atrezzo. sHe is
very effective and che likes all perfect and she gets upset if is
not everything as she had planned it
Teresa
Tormentina: she is the actress.
She plays the paper of Eva,
that has been costing to her much because she must undress, also
of Maria Magdalena and is another one of the angels. Mr
Jota is in love with her
Angels
of hell: they are the
musicians who sing in direct
and cheer the play. Their songs
are raised of tone and not
exactly I talk about to the of voice but with rhythm that makes
participate to the audience and that each one when it finishes
people applauds
SCENE:
the scene is not covered by any curtain nor drop curtain and lets
see the borders. There is a
plank in the center that it
changes of scenery according to the scene. To the left
there is a table type office with two chairs and the bible.
To the right another moveable wall turning the moveable walls
changes to the scenery and scene
ATREZZO:
the atrezzo changes according to the scene but what it is used
more they are the moveable walls that each one this decorated of
a form. They also use from toys
to make the coffer of Noe,
cardboard ewes, a drop curtain with sixteen flags until the three
wood crossings
CLOTHES:
and black shirt and Goldberg goes dress of present time, the
clothes for each scene is ridiculous. That stands out more
is the clothes of
ILLUMINATION:
the illumination was composed by the spotlights that can be seen
since there are no drop curtains and always with lights of colors
that help the scenery of the scene.
Everything is very
modern.
PERSONAL
OPINION: The atmosphere of the theatre was good
except the reaction of a woman who had a very extridente laughter
and laughed when everybody was in silence until people occurred
to account people and the people laughed of her. It has been one
of best plays than I have seen this year, the critic that does to
the bible is very good since as it says the pamphlet is an
explosive mixture of ethics,
lyricism, violence, sex,
action and philosophy. Also I
have liked because it shows
the effort to us that makes the actors to teat a play and all the
work that it takes
