INTRODUCTION.
This didactic unit is designed for pupils who study English as a Foreign Language who are 11-12 years old and are in their 6th year of Primary Education.
Don Quixote is a well-known book and it is familiar to the students, so I tried to use it to reinforce the concepts they are dealing in their syllabus, so that this didactic unit could help them to achieve some of the objetives.
OBJECTIVES
- To use literature as a means of approaching a cultural diversity.
- To recognize reading as a valuable source of information.
- To acquire confidence in their on capacity to express themselves in English correctly.
- To enjoy themselvese listening to a story in English.
- To be able to summarise a story.
- To understand a story that happened in the past and be able to use the simple past tense to taalk about actions that took place in the past.
- To motivate interest and curiosity.

CONCEPTS
- The simple past.
- Telling stories.
- Irregular and regular verbs.
- Affirmative and negative sentences.
- New vocabulary.
PROCEDURES
- Writing with or without visula aid, completing sentences, putting ords in order and producing short texts following a model.
- Comprehension of written/oral missages, with or without visual aid to classify, answer to questions, to get informaion..
- Reading comprehension activities with true/false activities.
- Organising sentences to form complete text.
- Multiple choice activities.
- Fill in the blanks activities.
ATTITUDES
- Interest in participating responsibly in group and individually and in taking part in the activities.
- Values reading not only as a pat time but as valuable source of information.
- Respects for other people´s participation in classroom activities.
- Interest in using different sources of information.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
