DRAMATIS PERSONAE:

Joan: At teh beginning is a young woman, but at the end is old. She is niece of Harper and it seems that she is atracted by Todd, although we don’t know if at the end they are couple of only friends. When she was a child is a friendly girl, inqiet, that she always look for an explication and she is quite clever.

Harper: She is the aunt of Joan, she lives in a country house and she is married.

Todd: He is a yougn man that works doing hats and Joan goes there to work at the same, she  knows him and it seems that they like. He does very well the hats.

PLOT:

All starts when Joan sleep at her aunt’s house and as he couldn’t sleep he questions to his aunt what he had seen the before night of his uncle and the bloodstained childrens. His aunt gives an explication defending to her husband. I think that they harbor somthing but they don’t talk again about this.

After, Few years later, Joan goes to work doing hats and he meets Todd, a youth very friendly that I think that he was in love. They make hats day after day during many time and little by little the meet better. After the years, all three are at Joan aunt’s house. Todd talks a lot with the aunt as if he knows her for many years. All three talks a lot and also of the animals. Joan was quite silent but she end the play talking.

SPACE:

There are many spaces; Harper’s house and the Joan and Todd’s work. There are rural spaces because Harper’s house is in the country.

TIME:

It is in the actual present. The play is based in three acts during the various years. The first is when Joan is little and is at her aunt’s house at night, the second with three scenes, that are different days, pass at the work and the last various years later again at her aunt’s house but at the morning. It is a coherent play due to the are not brakes times and it goes in a chronological way.

STYLISTIC AND LITERARY RESOURCES:

The play is written in prose with a colloquial and easy language to facility the reading to the reader.

PERSONAL OPINION:

The play is good, but I think that is quite simple, maybe is because I don’t understand it very well, but I look it without final, without conclusion. But the play is very good written and it seems to be the most famous play in Britain.
